About

Don’t worry. No one was injured.

Sarah Perry is an associate editor at Our State magazine in North Carolina. She freelances sometimes, too. She began her career in Kentucky, where she wrote for local newspapers. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Morehead State University in Morehead, Ky. and promptly moved to Texas to earn a master’s degree in journalism, with a focus in narrative writing, from the University of North Texas. Her work has appeared in The Washington Post, Our State, Spirit Magazine (Southwest Airlines) The San Francisco Chronicle, The Dallas Morning News, Ten Spurs literary journal, Mayborn magazine, and Fort Worth Weekly. Sarah was a contributing writer at The New Individualist. She is  working on a book about Jackie Lane, a busted-up cowgirl in West Texas, and the transformation of the American West. One day, she hopes to move to the mountains, grow her own grapes and plant a lemon tree in her front lawn.
